Craftivism Project #1

For the first project, we will be focusing on making shorts for little boys in Africa and donating the shorts to the Little Dresses for Africa organization (www.littledressesforafrica.org).  I have sent pillowcase dresses their way, and I will continue to send materials their way for the time being.

Deadline:  January 31, 2014
Goal:  100 pair of cotton shorts
Pattern Link:  http://www.nancyzieman.com/blog/nancys-corner/britches-for-boys-in-africa/  This link uses tee-shirts to upcycle into shorts.  Very simple!
Pattern Link:  http://www.danamadeit.com/2013/06/sewing-kid-shorts-the-basic-shorts.html  This pattern is made from fabric and is also very easy.  You do have to purchase it, but it then has a step-by-step tutorial and is a GREAT pattern to use over and over again.

Again, please let me know in the comments if you will be joining along for this project.  East 91st Street Christian Church peeps:  We will have our very own workday at church before January 31st.  I will let you know the exact time/date/location as the New Year approaches.

Blessings on you all, and I look forward to the difference you will make in the life of a child!
