Crochet . . . .

I learned to crochet when I was 8ish by my great grandmother.  I admit that I could only do chain, single crochet, and double crochet, but even then I had no idea what the names for the stitches were.  I became frustrated when as an adult I was unable to figure out a simple crochet hat, so I decided to learn to knit.  As soon as I learned to knit, I went BACK to crocheting and learned all the symbols and abbreviations and made my first hat!  Although I now have a fondness for knitting, crochet will always hold a special place in my heart because it connects me to such a beautiful person.  So, since my granny passed into the arms of Jesus on January 15th this year, I'm exclusively crocheting this entire year as a tribute to her.  I can still remember her with hook and yarn in hand making beautiful afghans for all of us she loved so much.  She gave so much when she herself had so little.  It is my hope to do the same.  I am going to try and teach as many people who are willing this year to crochet.  Then I can pass along a little of granny.  I will only be representing things on my blog that are for crocheters.  I've included some of the pics of items I've crocheted.  I've crocheted many more things than this, but I didn't think to take photos of them.  I would like to make several garments this year, and I'm working on some babysets.
